Julia Norvid is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and Professional School Counselor who brings warmth, empathy, and a collaborative approach to her work with children and families. She is passionate about helping young people better understand their emotions, develop practical coping skills, and build the confidence needed to manage challenges at home, at school, and in their relationships.

Julia supports children experiencing anxiety, social and emotional challenges, academic stress, and life transitions. Her approach is strengths-based, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She helps children recognize connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing healthier ways to respond to difficult situations. Julia also incorporates developmentally appropriate activities such as art, storytelling, puppets, and play to encourage engagement and self-expression.

With experience providing individual counseling, small-group support, and social-emotional learning in elementary school settings, Julia understands the academic, behavioral, and emotional demands children face. Her school-based background allows her to collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support each child across settings. She is committed to creating a safe and trusting environment in which children feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

Julia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Service Studies from Elon University and her Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has also completed specialized training in trauma-informed care, crisis management, and psychological first aid.
